How to Make a Power Point
Step 1 Open program

Programs
Microsoft Office PowerPoint
Step 2 Make slides
Slide 1: Introduce your element.
Add Title Example: Neon
Add subtitle Catchy Phrase: The Brightest and most Exciting Element
Add introduction:
You may get rid of Title box and add word art by using Control x (CUT). Then Add word art.
Go to insert/ add word art.
Slide 2: History of Element
(You will probably want to use the paragraph here, but will you need to get rid of bullets on slide.)
Go to the tool bar to remove bullets by clicking on the highlighted selection.
Slide 3: Uses for your Element
(You may use the slide with bullets or numbers for this slide.)
Slide 4: Title: DEVELOPMENT
How can this element still be developed while people live comfortably?
(Students may use paragraph form here.)
Slide 5: Sustainable Development
How can this element balance the quality of life and the quality of the environment?
Slide 6: Conclusion
Explain why your element is the best for Sustainable Development.
(May use paragraph form here.)
ADDING Slides 2-7
Go to:
Insert
New slide
(Make sure that wherever you want your slide, you have the one opened that you want to add under)
You can drag from the slide numbered list on the left if you need to move by clicking the slide you want to move and dragging it to the position needed.
To choose a different layout:
On the right hand side of the page, you have slide layout choices.
To add pictures:
GO to Internet Explorer.
FIND picture.
Right click and copy picture.
GO back to Power point and Paste picture.
Adding Text:
Don’t forget to get rid of text box if you decide to use word art instead of text box.
The text box will still be there if you add word art on top.
To change font:
Highlight information you want to change. Then go to format/font.
To Change background:
Format
Background choices: Then go to the drop down arrow.
More colors, fill effects (gradient, texture, pattern, picture)
Apply to all slides or just to this slide (apply)
Transitions:
Slide show
Slide transition
Apply option to selected slide
Modify transition choosing speed and sound
Custom animation (Transition within slide)
Highlight part, add effect, entrance
To view a single slide: Click play bar to see individual slide on right side toolbar.
Add exit:
click on text or pic.
Add effect, exit, animation.
Then you may add a text box that will come in after the exit.
